PRESS RELEASE: CHROMiX Announces Unlimited Print Profiling Service

SEATTLE, Wash. -- CHROMiX, Inc., announces ColorValet Pro, a new ICC color profiling service offering unlimited profiles for a single printer at a low price.

ColorValet Pro allows customers to build as many custom profiles as they want for a single RGB-controlled printer. This allows customers to experiment with a wide variety of papers to find which combination best meets their needs. The service automates the printing and download tasks, includes access to a ColorPool and includes the ability to track the printer, notifying its owner when the color shifts.

"Our photo and fine-art customers always want to try many different paper types." CHROMiX President Steve Upton explains. "Before ColorValet Pro, no custom profiling service could fulfill this need without a prohibitive price. Our customers look to us for the highest quality profiles. Now they can have as many as they like for one low price."

ColorValet Pro profiles are anonymously shared into the ColorPool for their printer. The ColorPool is a shared collection of profiles for all users of a specific printer model. ColorPool members have immediate access to previously-built media profiles while they determine if a custom profile is necessary to meet their needs. ColorValet Pro and ColorPool are services made possible through the continuing development of Maxwell, CHROMiX's online color management system launched in the summer of 2008.

"The ColorPool brings color management into the Web 2.0 era," continued Upton. "Once you bond your printer to our ColorValet Pro service, you have access to all the measurements and profiles available for your printer -- from any ColorValet Pro user. So, for quick color on a new paper you're testing, download what's available immediately and get to work. To fine-tune your color, print a target for a custom-fit profile."

ColorValet Pro beta testing is expected to begin March 31 and the service will be live mid-April 2009. Pricing will be $199 per printer, allowing unlimited profiling for that printer for a period of 18 months. A special $179 price is available if preordered prior to release. CMYK-controlled printers will be added to the service in the future. Existing ColorValet customers will be eligible for a reduced-price upgrade to the new service and reduced pricing will also be available for multiple printers.

Certain limitations and restrictions apply. Please see the ColorValet Pro agreement for full details. This document contains forward-looking statements that are based on CHROMiX expectations, projections and estimates.
