Fujifilm Corp. has released an updated version of firmware for the Fuji F200EXR digicam.

The main change in Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR firmware v1.10 is that the performance of the camera's Super Intelligent Flash is said to have been improved. At the same time, the Fujifilm F200EXR firmware update adds support for four new On Screen Display languages. F200EXR owners speaking Finnish, Norwegian, Danish or Slovak will now be able to control the camera in their native language.

Full instructions for checking your current version and applying the firmware update if required can be found on the Fujifilm website. As always, take care to follow the instructions to the letter, so as to not end up with an expensive and stylish paperweight. ;-)

Announced at the PMA 2009 trade show, the Fuji F200EXR shipped from February 2009 with a pricetag of $400. The first camera to feature Fujifilm's Super CCD EXR image sensor, the Fuji F200 has up to twelve megapixel resolution, a 5x optical zoom lens, mechanical image stabilization, 3.0" LCD display, SD / SDHC / xD-card storage, and power from a Lithium Ion battery. The importance of the Super CCD EXR imager is that it lets the Fujifilm F200EXR offer either its full twelve megapixel resolution when fine detail is the most important factor, or trade off half (or more) of that resolution for the photographer's choice of greatly improved sensitivity / noise levels, or a much wider dynamic range than is ordinarily possible. More details can be found in our Fuji F200EXR preview, and our Super CCD EXR sensor coverage.
