The folks over at Joby have announced a new photo contest offering a selection of their Gorillapod tripods as prizes.

Photographers have until year's end (12/31/2009, 11:59pm Pacific time) to enter up to three images by email. Each image must be at least 1000 pixels on the longer side, and thumbnails can only be sent by email if a link to a larger version is included in the email. Images shouldn't be heavily retouched, but light processing with Photoshop is allowed. There's a limit of 10MB attachments per mail, and a maximum of three emails. Each entry should be accompanied by the photographer's name, email address, contact phone number (and/or mailing address), country of residence, where the photo was taken, and whether a Gorillapod was used in the creation of the image.

There's no fee to enter, and no requirement that a Gorillapod be used to capture the image. Up to 16 winners will have their photos exhibited on Joby.com, and the grand prize winner will also be published in Popular Photography magazine. In addition, the grand prize winner will receive the entire Gorillapod line (Gorillapod Original, SLR, SLR-Zoom, Ballhead, and Focus), while five runners-up will receive a Gorillapod SLR-Zoom + Ballhead and Gorillamobile. Finally, up to ten honorable mentions will receive a Gorillapod Original.

More details can be found on the Joby website.
