GPU- accelerated Hardware Delivers Real-time, Automatic Video Editing and Rendering to Global Online Users

LAS VEGAS, NV – January 9, 2010 – (Virtual Press Office) - muvee, the pioneer and leader in home movie-making software and services, today announced that its online site for private group video sharing, shwup.com, has been enhanced with internally developed hardware solutions supported by a unique infrastructure architecture. The innovative architecture combines cloud-based services integrated with muvee's own GPU-accelerated video rendering servers to offer users real-time, automatic video editing and rendering in an entirely online environment.

shwup.com was created by muvee so friends who get together with cameras shooting different formats can combine photos and video in a single online album for sharing and collaborative editing. Members of that album can use an online version of muvee's home movie-making software to automatically create a professional-looking home movie in just three steps. Users simply select photos and video, picka music track from the royalty-free library provided, and choose a style. Then, muvee's software automatically creates an entertaining home movie synced to the beat of the music.

"We believe shwup.com is the first consumer online service to deploy GPU-accelerated hardware to deliver real-time automatic video editing to users," said Terence Swee, Founder and CEO, muvee. "To achieve this, we have drawn from across muvee's many years of experience in GPU computing, embedded systems design and software development. We also worked closely with NVIDIA to design in and test the Quadro GPU into our systems design. What this means is, we are able to provide novel ways for users to share photos and videos and take a truly collaborative approach to creating and enjoying home movie productions in an online environment with virtually real-time editing and preview capabilities. We also recognize that many people want to keep the original resolution of their photos and retain control on the amount of public online access to their personal media. With shwup.com, privacy is the default and is central to our whole approach to sharing. We also always preserve the original resolution of user's media."

"muvee has put the massively parallel computing power of NVIDIA GPUs in the cloud and created an interesting and collaborative web-based service," said Michael Steele, General Manager of NVIDIA Visual Consumer Solutions. "By using servers with NVIDIA graphics processors to power through complex video effects and video encoding, and streaming the results back in real-time over the Internet, the time Shwup customers have to wait to see their videos is dramatically shortened."

shwup.com is also tightly integrated with muvee's latest PC software muvee Reveal version 8, allowing muvee Reveal users to download pictures and videos from shwup.com and also upload finished productions directly to shwup.com. These capabilities provide quick and private sharing along with the deeper and more powerful production features in muvee's desktop editing products. This not only gives users a seamless archiving and production experience between the desktop and online environments, but also the best of both worlds: the power and instant gratification of running on a local desktop, along with the connectivity and sharing aspects of an online service.
