PALO ALTO, Calif., April 16, 2010 - HP today announced the Hewlett-Packard Company Foundation has committed $250,000 to organizations, including World Vision and the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, providing aid in the aftermath of the earthquake that devastated China’s Qinghai Province earlier this week.

The Foundation also has committed up to an additional $150,000 to match eligible contributions made by HP employees in support of the earthquake relief efforts, bringing the total amount committed by the Foundation to $400,000.

“Our thoughts go out to the families and communities affected by this tragedy, and we are pleased to be able to support organizations such as World Vision and the U.S. Fund for UNICEF that are working hard to relieve the community of their suffering and return their lives to some normalcy,” said Piau Phang Foo, managing director, HP China.

The funds donated by the Foundation are intended to support short-term relief as well as help the longer term reconstruction work needed to rebuild the country.
