Olympus Corp. has announced imminent availability of its latest Micro Four Thirds lens for the Japanese market.

First revealed last November, the M. ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 9-18mm f4.0-5.6 super wide-angle zoom lens offers effective focal lengths of 18 - 36mm on Micro Four Thirds camera bodies. Japanese availability is slated for Friday, April 23rd 2010.

Pricing in Japan is set at ¥71,000 (US$770) for the lens itself, ¥3,500 (US$38) for a 52mm protective filter, and ¥4,800 ($52) for a lens hood. Note that all currency conversions ignore exchange rate fluctuations, taxes, and duties.

Japanese availability of the simultaneously announced M. ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-150mm f4.0-5.6 zoom lens -- which offers 28-300mm equivalent focal lengths -- is currently set for late May 2010.
