Topaz Labs has released an update to its DeNoise Photoshop plugin, which received a major overhaul earlier this month to incorporate some of the same changes from the company's recent Clean, DeJPEG and Simplify plugin updates.

Topaz DeNoise v4.1 includes a number of changes aimed at improving image quality. These include a new noise reduction algorithm with improved color edge sharpness, and new presets which are said to provide "much better" results. There's also a new Clean Color slider, and separate adjustment of red and blue color channels is now possible. Other changes from the previous v4.0 release as compared to earlier versions are also retained, including a redesigned user interface with collapsible side panels and sliders that can be double-clicked to reset. One important note regarding Topaz DeNoise v4.1 is that it is not compatible with presets from the previous v4.0 version.

Topaz DeNoise is available on both the Windows and Macintosh platforms. DeNoise is compatible with Adobe Photoshop 7 thru CS5, Adobe Photoshop Elements 1 thru 8, and third-party editors that support Photoshop plug-ins, such as Irfanview and Corel Paint Shop Pro. Courtesy of the freely available Topaz Fusion Express plugin, DeNoise can also be used with Adobe's Photoshop Lightroom..
