Fujifilm has today published updated firmware for several of its closely-related long-zoom digital camera models.

Cameras for which the company has newly issued firmware include the FinePix S1600, S1700, S1730, S1770, S1780, S1800, S1850, S1880, S1900, S2500HD, S2550HD, S2600HD, and S2700HD. Two changes apply to operation of all thirteen camera models. An issue whereby the camera could print the wrong number of sheets to a PictBridge-connected printer has been resolved. The same issue was recently identified and resolved for twenty different models in Fujifilm's FinePix AV-, AX-, JV- and JX-series compact digital cameras.

Another change is specific to the long-zoom S-series cameras: handling in image playback is also said to have been improved, although the precise manner of the change isn't specified.

More details as well as instructions on upgrading can be found on the Fujifilm global website.
