Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. has published two new firmware releases for its Samsung TL500 compact digital camera, known in some markets as the Samsung EX1.

The new firmware releases follow in the footsteps of last month's version 005101 updates, which corrected an issue whereby 8GB SDHC cards were incorrectly recognized as having only 4GB capacity. While the TL500 and EX1 are near identical, they require different firmware specific to the market in which the camera was sold, and the latest firmware versions are now v005251 for the EX1, and v005254 for the TL500. In both cases, this new update is said to improve camera stability, and a "low chroma effect".

Both Samsung TL500 v005254 for North American cameras, and Samsung EX1 v005251 for cameras in other markets, can be downloaded from the EX1 product page on the UK-based Samsung Electronics website. The TL500 firmware is also available on Samsung's US website.
