Panasonic Corp. has today released updated firmware for its Lumix DMC-FZ100 digital camera.

The new firmware carries version number 1.1, and has just one change. Banding noise in shadow areas of images is said to have been improved in the FZ100 firmware v1.1. More details on the firmware and its application can be found on the DMC-FZ100 firmware download page.

Announced back in July 2010, the Panasonic Lumix FZ100 couples a 14 megapixel image sensor, and a Leica-branded 24x optical zoom lens. The standout feature of the Lumix DMC-FZ100 is its incredibly swift 11fps full-resolution burst mode, using a mechanical shutter. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ100 shipped last August, priced at $500. Our Panasonic FZ100 preview contains further details on this camera.
