PRESS RELEASE: GoldenPic Makes Golden Hour Easier

Photographers know how lighting and weather can make or break the perfect picture. But, GoldenPic (for Android) just made it even easier to get the sunrise, sunset, golden hours, blue hours and weather for any place on any date!

PRLog (Press Release) – Nov 22, 2010 – Palatine, IL, USA - Jebs Apps, LLC is pleased to announce the newest release of GoldenPic and GoldenPicLite for Android phones.

When it comes to outdoor photography, we all know lighting plays an intricate role in that perfect picture. Instead of trying to figure out when the Golden Hour and Blue Hour is going to be, reach for GoldenPic.

GoldenPic is an Android application primarily designed for photographers. After retrieving your current location (via GPS or Network location), GoldenPic will display when the blue hours, golden hours, sunrise and sunset will occur for any given date and location in the world. If the selected date is within 4 days, it will even display the weather for you (when available)! GoldenPic is great for planning your next outdoor photo shoot, and you can even email the results!

After receiving some feedback from various photographers, Jebs Apps made some great enhancements to GoldenPic to raise the standard! Some of the new features added in this release include:

  • Save favorite locations to reload anytime

  • Modify favorite locations

  • Map to favorite locations (driving or walking directions from Google Maps)

  • Revamped time zone discovery to use your local time zone (only if the time zone for the selected location can’t be found)

  • Added 3 new themes

“A great little app which, based on your GPS co-ordinates, will tell you what time golden hour will commence in the after noon, what time the sun will set, what time blue hour will end, and then for the following morning, what time blue hour starts, sunrise, and when golden hour will end. You can also scan ahead through the calendar to plan your shooting schedule for the following days!” said Bruce Williams of Bruce Williams Photography.

"Gives the lighting info I need quickly and easily in a simple format." said Dustin on the Android Market.

“Awesome for architectural photographers like me. Worth 10x the price.” said Ian on Android Market.

The full version of GoldenPic is available on the Android Market, on sale for $1.79 USD (reduced until 2011 for the holidays) and provides four different ways to change the location, it allows you to remember your last location (so you don't have to keep turning on your GPS each time), allows you to save your favorite locations and it also allows you to email the results to yourself or someone else (maybe to show your client when the sunrise or sunset will occur in order to plan the photo shoot accordingly).

GoldenPicLite is a free version with limited functionality and also available from the Android Market. This new release of GoldenPicLite now provides the ability to change the location using two of the available methods from the full version.
