Sigma Corp. has released updated firmware for its SD15 digital SLR that adds two new features, as well as improving display quality.

With the stock v1.00 firmware, the Sigma SD15 offered a Quick Set Menu function that allowed four functions -- ISO sensitivity, AF mode, flash mode, and metering mode -- to be quickly adjusted using the arrow keys, by first pressing the QS button. With the new SD15 firmware v1.01, you can now press the QS button a second time to access a further group of Quick Set Menu functions. Quick Set Menu 2 provides access to white balance, color mode, image quality, and image size for quick adjustment.

Another feature added in Sigma SD15 v1.01 is a key sound function, which allows the self-timer and mirror lock-up sounds to be disabled if desired. In addition, the new firmware is said to improve display quality of the LCD monitor, although no specific information is available as to what this change entails.

The new features are described in a PDF manual supplement that's available on Sigma's website. The firmware itself can be downloaded from the Sigma SD15 firmware update page.
