LAS VEGAS, February 18, 2011 –Helping to elevate the art of wedding and portrait photography, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging, will showcase various imaging products at this year’s Wedding & Portrait Photographer International (WPPI) Convention at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas at the Canon Booth (#401).

On display will be the new imagePROGRAF iPF6300S large format printer, the award-winning EOS DSLR camera line, professional video camcorders and PIXMA Pro-series inkjet printers in addition to live demonstrations of various professional product solutions designed for specialty applications. With the Company’s complete line of image-capture equipment, Canon looks to provide end-to-end solutions, helping wedding and portrait photographers produce high-quality prints for clients to cherish and relive those magical moments.

Canon imagePROGRAF Large Format Printers
Helping to reproduce that perfect portrait, the new 24-inch Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6300S large format printer provides wedding and portrait photographers with an affordable, 8-color option for printing high-quality images in a shorter amount of time than Canon’s 12-color, imagePROGRAF line up. From the vivid colors of the bride’s bouquet to the neutral grays in a monochrome image of a couple’s walk down the aisle, the printer’s new 8-Color LUCIA EX ink system helps deliver wide color gamut and achieves excellent shadow detail, deep black density and amazing scratch resistance. The printer boasts improved speed over previous models, producing 24” x 36” documents in roughly 35 seconds in a single pass economy mode and full quality photographs in approximately four minutes. This new imagePROGRAF printer also includes a Plug-In for Adobe Photoshop, providing further support for the proofing and 64-bit printing environment. If a photographer is looking for even greater color gamut, the award-winning, 44-inch imagePROGRAF iPF8300 and 24-inch imagePROGRAF iPF6350 would be the quintessential choices. For an enhanced color spectrum and wider color gamut, both printers feature a 12-Color LUCIA EX pigment ink set, producing expressive and crisp blacks, smooth color gradations, and the capability to reproduce the finest details in the shadow areas of photographs.

Canon EOS Digital SLR Cameras
With the capability to capture the glow and mood of a couple’s wedding, the Canon EOS models on display will provide new opportunities to shoot beautiful and captivating still images, as well as Full HD video, making it possible to deliver the ultimate in image quality and versatility. The EOS-1D Mark IV is equipped with a 45-Point Autofocus system, fast 10 frames-per-second (fps) continuous shooting, 16-megapixel resolution and outstanding low-light imaging and focus sensitivity. The amazing EOS 5D Mark II has a large Full Frame CMOS image sensor and a DIGIC 4 Imaging Processor, producing stunning color and fine high-definition detail. The advanced EOS 7D features Dual DIGIC 4 Image Processors, advanced 19-Point Autofocus system and a large APS-C–sized CMOS sensor. Featuring 18-megapixel resolution, the EOS 60D features a three-inch Vari-Angle Clear View LCD screen and in-camera Creative Filters to manipulate images after taking them.

Canon High Definition Professional Camcorders
Where high image quality, extreme portability and efficient workflow are of the utmost importance, the Canon high definition professional camcorders are the ideal choices. The Canon XF305 and XF300 professional HD camcorders include a Genuine Canon 18x HD L-series lens, three Canon developed and manufactured native 1920 x 1080 CMOS image sensors and the new Canon XF Codec for extreme color detail. The Canon XF105 and XF100 utilize the Canon XF Codec, in-camera features enabling the easy set-up and capture of high-definition 3-D video when two XF105 or XF100 camcorders are pairedto Canon’s built-in infrared low-light feature, permits the capture of HD video in complete darkness.The newly announced, ultra-compact Canon XA10 professional camcorder uses an AVCHD codec and features a 10x Genuine Canon HD Video Lens with a 35mm equivalent zoom range of 30.4mm – 304mm with an eight-blade iris, a Canon DIGIC DV III Image Processor and Canon’s 1/3 inch native 1920 x 1080 image sensor. The XA10 also features a detachable handle which, when attached, further enhances the camcorder’s functionality by providing infrared shooting, XLR inputs and an external microphone holder.

PIXMA Pro9500 Mark II and Pro9000 Mark II Photo Printers
The Canon PIXMA Pro9500 Mark II Photo Printer features 10 pigment-based ink colors - photo black, matte black and gray as well as cyan, magenta, yellow, photo cyan, photo magenta, red and green - allowing users the benefit of a wide color gamut for stunning color prints, as well as three levels of black for true black-and-white photographs. Designed for the pro and amateur fine-art photographers, the printer provides outstanding resolution and droplet control utilizing Canon's double-encoder system to produce gallery-quality prints. The eight-color dye-based PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II Photo Printer’s impressive quality and speed are the result of the Canon FINE print head technology coupled with a high-performance, high-density 6,144-nozzle print head, which is capable of producing nearly invisible ink droplets of two-picoliters.

CPS Service Program
Canon will host an exclusive CPS Member Lounge and Camera Clinic at this year’s WPPI Convention. The lounge, located in room #102, is open to CPS Members Only and visitors will need to present their CPS membership card at the door for access to the lounge. Technical representatives will be available to answer product questions. In addition, Gold and Platinum-level CPS members can also take advantage of a free on-site Clean and Check service provided by CPS Service Technicians for Canon digital equipment.
