DreamLabo 5000 Production Inkjet Printer And First Jointly Developed Canon and Océ Product

WASHINGTON, D.C., March 22, 2011 – Featuring selections from across its complete line of award-winning imaging solutions, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging, will display an array of products developed to streamline workflow and improve document efficiency for businesses of all sizes at the 2011 AIIM On Demand Exhibition (Booth #1901). In addition, Canon will mark the launch of two historic products, the DreamLabo 5000 production inkjet printer, developed to serve the production photo printing market, and the imagePRESS C7010VPS digital press, representing the first collaborative product developed by the creative teams at Canon and Océ.

Incorporating significant advances in Canon's evolving inkjet technology, the DreamLabo 5000inkjet printer represents the Company's inaugural entry into the production photo printing market. Utilizing Canon's FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) print-head technology, theDreamLabo 5000 delivers a new paradigm of photo and text quality together with high productivity offering the retail photo printing market and the high-end print-on-demand (POD) markets a new alternative to traditional silver halide processing technology. Targeting high growth market opportunities for digital photo printers, the unique blend of high-quality output and production speeds allow the DreamLabo 5000 to create high-value-added commercial output including photo merchandise and high-quality POD (Print on Demand) items such as wedding and other premium photo albums.

Showcasing the combined research and development efforts of Canon and Océ, the imagePRESS C7010VPS series takes color production printing to the next level. Featuring Océ's PRISMAsync operation management system, the imagePRESS C7010VPS provides an ideal solution for corporate reprographic departments and in-plant facilities seeking a robust digital press capable of delivering enhanced productivity and versatility via an intuitive user-interface.

Canon will also offer a hands-on demonstration of the new "Cloud Portal for imageRUNNER ADVANCE" application that enables Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE MPFs to access Google Docs and Microsoft SharePoint Online cloud-based services directly from the MFP panel. Developed by Canon using its MEAP technology, this new application allows users to scan and store paper-based documents directly to the cloud, and output them on the imageRUNNER ADVANCE MFP.

In addition to these new products, Canon U.S.A. will also display:

Enterprise Solutions
Canon will feature a broad range of its award-winning imageRUNNER ADVANCE multifunction products (MFP) and workflow solutions including the color imageRUNNER ADVANCE C9075 PRO/C5051/C5030/C2030 and monochrome imageRUNNER ADVANCE 8105/6075 products as well as the compact imageRUNNER 2545i and imageRUNNER LBP3470. In addition, Canon will feature a range of solutions including, uniFLOW v5, imageWARE Enterprise Management Console, AA-PROX card-based user authentication, imageRUNNER ADVANCE Essentials, imageWARE Document Server and eCopy ShareScan v5 as well as the imageWARE Secure Audit Manager Express security solution.

Production Solutions
Canon will demonstrate an array of inline digital press finishing options, including newly enabled support for inline UV coating and square fold booklet production from third-party finishers including OLEC and SDD as well as Version 2.1 of the imagePRESS CR Server A7000/7500, Powered by Creo Color Server Technology. The new server contains multiple productivity and image quality features, including support for Adobe PDF Print Engine 2 and enhancements to print-quality and user-experience such as Import Device Link Profile for advanced color management and improved site and multi-device color matching.

The Canon booth will also feature the Océ VarioPrint 6250 Ultra production printer which utilizes Océ's Gemini Instant Duplex technology to print both sides of the page in a single pass, unlike conventional systems that run the paper through the print engine twice to print both sides. As a result, Océ VarioPrint 6000 systems deliver high-quality output that is ideal for books, transaction, direct mail and other applications.

Océ will also demonstrate a range of Océ PRISMA® software tools that make print processes faster and more efficient. Océ PRISMA solutions are modular workflow management tools that combine Océ PRISMA software products, servers, and implementation services - all customizable to individual requirements - to automate and unify processes, boosting productivity from document composition through printing, finishing and distribution.

Large Format Solutions
During this year's exhibition, Canon will showcase its recently launched 24-inch imagePROGRAF iPF6300S and 44-inch imagePROGRAF iPF8300S large format printers utilizing Canon's eight-color LUCIA EX ink set, which deliver greater shadow details, deeper black density and improved scratch resistance. Also, on display will be the imagePROGRAF iPF750MFP Imaging System, which provides users in the technical document market an affordable solution for fast and effective large format image capture-to-output. The Canon booth will also feature the five-color imagePROGRAF iPF825 and the 12-color imagePROGRAF iPF6350.

Document Imaging Solutions
Demonstrating the versatility of Canon's award-winning scanning solutions for mobile, office and production environments, Canon will display a variety of imageFORMULA products and configurations. Products include the portable P-150 Scan-tini Personal Document Scanner, the compact imageFORMULA DR-3010C Workgroup Scanner with eCopy PDF Pro Office, as well as the reliable imageFORMULA DR-X10C Production Scanner. Canon will also feature the ScanFront 220eP Network Scanner with eCopy ShareScan v5 and ScanFront 300P Network Scanner with Sagemcom XMediusFAX, as well as the DR-6030C Departmental Scanner with Flatbed option featuring EasyConnect from Nocson Collaborations.
