A new version of Windows imaging application Qimage Ultimate has just been released, we hear from ddisoftware Inc. president and chief software programmer Mike Chaney.

Qimage Ultimate v2012.100 features an improved user interface, a black level detection function, and support for 3D photography, among other bug fixes and tweaks to the application. The updated user interface improves the way in which the print properties dialog opens and closes, and is also said to include some unspecified refinements and bug fixes. The auto black level detection function, meanwhile, attempts to automatically correct washed out, hazy-looking raw images, and can be enabled or disabled altogether, or on a per-image basis.

3D support in Qimage Ultimate v2012.100 includes support for the .MPO (Multi Picture Object) and .JPS (JPEG Stereo) formats, and can convert either type to side-by-side JPEG files. Support for lenticular printing is planned later this year, or early next year.

Qimage Ultimate pricing is set at $90 for a downloadable version, and includes one year of free updates, after which users must pay $20 per year for continued updates. More details can be found on the ddisoftware website.
