DX3500, DX3600: Full specs, sample images and more! (UPDATED)

Full specs and lots of info on Kodak's latest digital cameras...
We were first to tell you on Friday evening about Kodak's upcoming DX3500 digital camera, and earlier this morning found that there'd be a second new camera from the company, the DX3600... Now we can reveal further information on both cameras, directly from Kodak!
The DX3500 and DX3600 digital cameras are part of Kodak's EasyShare system, which is essentially a camera dock specific to the DX series digital cameras and a software package called 'Kodak Picture Software'. The camera includes an insert which allows it to fit into the dock, but the dock itself must be purchased separately. It can then provide power to the camera for recharging an NiMH battery (2 are included with the dock), and also transfer images to a computer by USB connection with one touch of a button. Kodak's Picture Software then allows for emailing and printing of images...
The DX3500 is the more basic of the two cameras, with a fixed focus, fixed-focal length lens; the DX3600 adds a 2x optical zoom lens, more powerful flash, and movie capability (with audio, thanks to the camera's speaker and microphone). Both cameras share many features however, such as 8MB of built-in memory, CompactFlash storage, 1.8" LCD and optical viewfinders, etc. The DX3500 will ship in May 2001 at a cost of $299, whilst the DX3600 will follow in July at a cost of $399. The DX Series dock will cost $79.95, and is compatible with both cameras...

2001-04-23 12:24ET: Full specs for the Kodak DX3500 are now in the Imaging Resource camera database, including some additional details we gleaned from Kodak's site and looking at our various images of the camera. We'll have the DX3600 added to the database shortly...
2001-04-23 13:44ET: Corrected a couple of formatting errors and one mistake in the specifications; the DX3600 is actually a fixed focus camera even though it has a variable focal length (zoom) lens...
