It may be the Memorial Day holiday weekend in the USA, but news continues to come in from the rest of the world...

Toshiba Japan has today announced its new PDR-M81 digital camera, our friend Yamada Kumio reports on his digitalcamera.gr.jp website. The Allegretto PDR-M81 features a 4 megapixel CCD image sensor, 2.8x optical zoom lens from Canon, a range of manual features and both movie / burst mode capabilities. Specifications highlights follow, and full specifications for the Toshiba Allegretto PDR-M81 are already in our database...

Coinciding with the Japanese announcement, Yamada-san has posted 8 sample images from the PDR-M81 at the PC Watch website. There are 5 outdoor and 3 indoor flash photos, all taken on a development camera. (The usual cveat applies that these may vary substantially from images taken with a final production camera, although they should represent at least a baseline of what the camera can do).
