Online photofinisher expands product line with prints to 20" x 30" and more...

A press release from online photofinisher Ofoto Inc. announces that it has added three new products for customers. First up are two new print sizes, recommended only for images above 1600 x 1200 pixels:
  • 16" x 20" full-bleed Kodak Glossy prints - $14.99
  • 20" x 30" full-bleed Kodak Glossy prints - $19.99
The third new service is the Ofoto Archive CD, priced at $9.95 and up. The Archive CD contains original full-resolution versions of all images in a user's Ofoto albums, and is compatible with both Macintosh and Windows computers. We couldn't find specifics on Ofoto's site as to what the $9.95 price includes - similar services from competitors start at $8-10 for 50-60 images, with more images adding to the cost.

Ofoto Expands Product Mix With Larger Print Sizes and the Ofoto Archive CD; New Products Make it Even Easier to Share and Preserve Precious Memories

EMERYVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 28, 2001--Ofoto, Inc. (www.ofoto.com), the leading online photo service, today announced that the company will now offer larger print sizes and the Ofoto Archive CD to customers. Consumers can now easily order 16 x 20 inch and 20 x 30 inch high-quality photographic prints of their pictures. With one click, they can also preserve their entire collection of full resolution images stored online at Ofoto on the new Ofoto Archive CD.

Printed at Ofoto's state-of-the-art lab, the larger silver halide prints come on glossy Kodak Professional paper and are full-bleed, i.e. the image fills the entire print area. A 16 x 20 inch print costs $14.99 and a 20 x 30 inch print is $19.99. The recommended image resolution for these larger print sizes is at least 1600 x 1200 pixels. Customers can also use Ofoto's free online tools, such as photo borders, calendars and color tints, to enhance photos in these new sizes. In addition, Ofoto film and digital customers can now obtain all of their full resolution images on the Ofoto Archive CD. The Ofoto Archive CD will contain all the pictures customers have edited and enhanced using Ofoto's online tools, along with the original images, and will be organized by album. The Ofoto Archive CD is Macintosh and Windows compatible and is priced according to the number of images a customer has at Ofoto, starting at $9.95.

At Ofoto, film camera users can enjoy the same benefits of online photo enhancement, storage and sharing as digital camera users. In addition to getting great quality prints, customers who send their film to Ofoto have the ability to digitally enhance their pictures online by adding borders, editing images and much more. The Ofoto Archive CD then provides copies of all the pictures they stored and enhanced online. For digital users, the Ofoto Archive CD frees up space on computer hard drives and provides a convenient, long-term storage solution for their photos. The Ofoto Archive CD is available through the Ofoto web site and Amazon.com's Photo Services.

"These new products were at the top of our customers' wish lists," said James Joaquin, President, Ofoto, Inc. "Being able to get high-quality, larger prints will encourage photographers to become even more creative with their pictures and the Ofoto Archive CD gives them a safe, easy and reliable way to preserve their memories."
