Announced at the Spring 2006 Photo Marketing Association tradeshow in Orlando, the Fujifilm FinePix A600 is based around a six megapixel SuperCCD HR imager, which uses an octagonal array of photodiodes that increases image resolution in the horizontal and vertical planes - where the maximum detail in pictures should be found. Coupled to a Fujinon 3x optical zoom lens, the sensor offers a maximum resolution of 2848 x 2136 pixels, and ISO sensitivity from 100 to 400 equivalent. Where the current A-series lineup all offer optical viewfinders, the A600 eschews one in favor of a larger 2.4" LCD display
Other features of note on the Fuji A600 include xD-Picture Card and 12MB of built-in storage, power from two AA batteries, an AVI movie mode with audio, and a product bundle including Fuji's FinePixViewer software. The FinePix A600 is priced at $249.
