It should be noted that quite a few of the NV4's specs were marked as preliminary in the information we received, including the image dimensions, internal memory, shutter speeds, flash range, ISO sensitivities and playback zoom. With that proviso, the Samsung NV4 is an eight megapixel camera with a Samsung-branded 3x internal optical zoom lens and a 2.5" LCD display. Capable of an unusually high resolution 800 x 592 pixel MPEG-4 movie mode, the Samsung NV4 also functions as a personal media player, allowing owners to watch movies and listen to MP3 audio after conversion to the device's required formats with the included software.

The NV4 also features the company's innovative World Tour Guide function, which provides "travel information covering 4,500 regions in 30 countries -- helping users to plan trips and find their way while on the road", according to Samsung. Other NV4 features include Face Detection as well as 14 scene modes to choose from, including Night, Portrait, Children, Landscape, Close-Up, Text, Sunset, Dawn, Backlight, Fireworks, Beach & Snow, Café, Food, and Self Portrait.

The Samsung NV4 will be priced at US$279 MSRP when it reaches US shores. Availability has not been announced at this time.
