The Kodak EasyShare V1073 and V1273 are closely related digital cameras. The V1273 couples a 12 megapixel CCD to a 3x SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH branded optically stabilized zoom lens, while the $30 cheaper V1073 offers 10 megapixel resolution with the same lens. Both cameras feature a generous 3.0-inch, 230K pixel touch screen LCD.

The V1073 and V1273 both offer a 1280 x 820 High Definition movie mode at 30 frames-per-second, as well as VGA (640 x 480) and QVGA (320 x 240) modes. The only other difference of note beside the price is that the V1073's maximum ISO is rated at 8000, while the V1273's tops out at 6400, both of which are only available at resolutions of 3.1 megapixels and lower.

Other features common to both the V1073 and V1273 include Face Detection technology, which automatically adjusts the camera's settings for optimal portrait shots, Smart Capture mode, which is an intelligent scene detection system, and about 20 scene modes, including: portrait, sport, landscape, close up, night portrait, night landscape, snow, beach, text/document, fireworks, flower, museum/manner, self-portrait, high ISO, children, backlight, panning, candle light, sunset, panorama stitch, and blur reduction.

Power for the EasyShare V1073 and V1273 come from a proprietary KLIC-7004 lithium-ion battery or AC adapter. Images are stored on Secure Digital / MultiMediaCards including SDHC types, or in 32MB of available internal memory. The V1073 and V1273 are capable of displaying stills and videos in High Definition, using the optional Kodak EasyShare HDTV dock. Images and movies captured are transferred to your computer over a USB 2.0 High-Speed connection through the dock connector.

Both EasyShare digital cameras ship in the Spring of 2008, with the V1073 priced at about US$250 and the V1273 at about US$280.
