Pentax Q: Software update for SILKYPIX

Pentax Ricoh Imaging Co. Ltd. has issued an update to SILKYPIX Developer Studio 3.0 for Pentax, the customized version of Ichikawa Soft Laboratory's imaging application that comes bundled with the Pentax Q compact system camera.

Release notes for SILKYPIX Developer Studio v3.0.0.3 include mention of two changes, which are applicable on both Windows and Mac OS X platforms. An issue with noise on the right side of images developed from DNG raw files has been corrected, and overall stability of the application is said to have been improved, although no specifics are given.

The new version of SILKYPIX for Pentax Q owners comes hot on the heels of last week's updates for the camera body and lens firmware, which improved the Q's sharpening and overall stability.
