HotPrints to cease operations

Cambridge, UK-based photo book company HotPrints Ltd. yesterday announced that it will cease operations from the end of the month, according to a post in the company's support forums.
Since late 2009, HotPrints has offered photo books under an unusual, ad-supported business model that initially saw Facebook users receive one free photo book each month. By mid-2010, this had been changed to the current offer of four photo books monthly, but with a shipping charge of approximately $3 per book.
HotPrints customers have only until tomorrow to place their last photo book orders, and customer support on these orders will be provided through the end of the month. Existing customers are being referred to Menlo Park, CA-based Picaboo Corp., with an offer of 50% off their first order. More details can be found in the official announcement.
