Olympus Viewer 2 has--perhaps rather confusingly--just been updated to version 1.3 on both the Windows and Macintosh platforms. The list of changes is the same for both. It's now possible to upload images to Facebook and Flickr directly from Olympus Viewer 2, and you can optionally limit these uploads to just the files that were marked as such in-camera. There's also a new Insert Text function in the Image Edit window, and Viewer 2 adds support for the new .mov video file format used by the latest round of Olympus cameras.

If you have Viewer 2, you'll want to download the update for Windows, or for Macintosh, as applicable.

At the same time, Olympus has released updated firmware for the ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 70-300mm F4.0-5.6 zoom lens. There's only one change listed in the release notes: improved manual focus operation. Details on performing the upgrade vary depending on your chosen Four Thirds-mount camera body, so you'll want to visit the Joint update service for OLYMPUS E-SYSTEM website for more details...
