Canon USA Inc. has acknowledged a problem experienced by some photographers shooting with its EOS 5D Mk III digital SLR, we hear from the folks over at PDN Pulse. The company confirms that it has replicated an issue whereby light leaking from the top-panel LCD info display's backlight is picked up by the camera's metering system, affecting the displayed exposure value. The problem is nicely demonstrated in a YouTube video posted by Korean photographer Jaeliona.
According to a brief statement on the Canon USA website, it is currently making preparations for an announcement on how it intends to proceed on the issue. More details as soon as we hear them!
