Quick on the draw: Firmware boosts Sigma SD1 startup speed

A new firmware update for the Sigma SD1 digital SLR this morning promises a number of improvements, including swifter startup speed.
Following just three weeks after the previous update improved autofocus and flash metering accuracy, the new update is also said to fix a problem with the LCD display briefly showing what Sigma terms as "minor fuzziness" on startup. Additionally, a Sigma SD1 running version 1.07 firmware--or the identical SD1 Merrill running v1.02--will now allow use of external flash in manual mode with the mirror locked up.
