Italian artist Photoshops his thumb to create portraits of famous people

There's lots of strange art on the Internet but one of the stranger things we've run across lately are these whimsical creations by an Italian artist who goes by the name Dito Von Tease.
The 33-year-old resident of Bologna takes a photo of his index finger and then runs it through Photoshop to create fanciful portraits of famous faces.
Fingerprint portraits on his blog, Ditology, run the gamut from Adolph Hitler to Ronald McDonald to Mr. Spock from Star Trek.
Von Tease, whose handle is a take-off on burlesque performer Dita Von Teese, says he started his project when he was looking for an avatar for his Facebook profile.
"I wanted to be free from my role, my oppressive relatives, and my not-very-friends," he told Shine.
