Compelling behind-the-scenes photos from “Raiders of the Lost Ark”

 

 

Landmark adventure film "Raiders of the Lost Ark" returned to the big screen a few months ago and as part of that re-release, a raft of behind-the-scenes images of the movie have been making the rounds.

Many of these candid shots are wonderful, showing director Stephen Spielberg, producer George Lucas and stars Harrison Ford (in his full Indiana Jones outfit) and the gorgeous Karen Allen preparing for scenes or joking around between takes.

(In case you were wondering, like I was, what Allen has been up to lately, she's currently starring in a one-act play in New York City called "A Summer Day." She also appeared in the lamentable Raiders sequel "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" in 2008.)
