A recent series of humorous viral videos titled "DSLR Gear No Idea" from Sony Australia are making fun of a certain breed of overly enthusiastic DSLR owners. At the same time, the spots implicitly make a case for buying a Sony NEX series compact system camera -- or at least it appears that's what the company intends by them.

We have to admit that amidst our uproarious laughter, we remembered more than a few moments where we might have looked just as foolish ourselves. And that's probably why these spots are so effective: Not only do they hit the mark on mocking over-the-top shooting gear and behaviors, ranging from the "F-Stop Fusspot" to the "Vidiot," but also they hit close to home.

Do you find the videos funny or offensive? Is it wise for the company to mock some of its potential customers?
