Pentax K-5 II firmware fixes bugs, adds new feature

Available immediately from the Pentax global website, the Pentax K-5 II v1.01 firmware update enables contrast adjustment for the rear-panel LCD monitor, allowing photographers to tune the display to their preferences, or to more closely resemble printed output. Since the K-5 IIs is near-identical in terms of hardware, other than its lack of an optical low-pass filter, the same update is simultaneously available for that camera.
The update also makes general fixes to improve stability, but Pentax doesn't specify precisely what these entail. We've heard reports from readers that an issue with the camera locking up while shooting HDR images is among those that have been resolved.
More details and the firmware download for both the K-5 II and K-5 IIs can be found on the Pentax global website.
