This lovely time-lapse video is a few years old now but we think it's worth another look now that winter finally seems to be giving way to Spring.

Called "One year in 40 seconds," it was shot by Eirik Solheim with a 10-megapixel Canon EOS 400D (aka Rebel XTi in North America) and an EF-S 10-22mm lens (@ 10mm) from the same spot on his balcony in Norway looking out on his backyard. The ambient audio sounds of nature were captured with a Canon S2 IS and a Canon HF10.

Solheim's clip, which shows the seasons gradually changing over the surrounding landscape, reminds us a lot of a time-lapse video we featured this month, titled "Forest Year," which was shot with an old Nikon Coolpix 5400. All of which proves you don't need fancy, high-end gear to capture something beautiful.
