To help christen National Geographic's new blog "Proof," the magazine has posted a video compendium of interviews with some of the publications most famous photographers.

The clip, which you can see embedded below, features excerpts of video chats with 44 National Geographic photographers who visited the magazine's headquarters in Washington DC, and were interviewed by Pamela Chen, National Geographic's Senior Photo Editor.

"Chances are if you walked past a National Geographic photographer on the street, you wouldn’t know it—and that’s how they like it," Chen writes in a blog post on Proof about the video.

While I understand why photographers favor anonymity, the nearly 6-minute video below, which includes snippets of Chen's interviews, would have done well to, at least, identify those who were included. You'll probably be able to recognize some of the photographers through their work, which is shown in the video, but it'd be nice to have actual names to match the faces.

That's a minor quibble, however, since I'm assuming when the full interviews are released, we'll get all the important deets. (There's also a list of those who were interviewed at the very end of the video.) In the meantime, enjoy the inspirational clip.
