If you read our Pentax 645Z review, published a couple of months ago, you already know that Ricoh's mighty medium-format DSLR is one seriously impressive camera. It's also very affordable by medium-format camera standards -- but medium-format gear is notoriously pricey, so that's a relative thing.

You've got to be serious about your photography to justify the cost of picking up a Pentax 645Z and lenses, even if similar gear from medium-format rivals would likely cost many times more. And unless you've got some very deep pockets, you probably need time to get that cash together -- time you could've been out shooting with your incredible new camera.

Now, Ricoh Europe has announced a program that will help get a Pentax 645Z and lenses in your hands sooner without adding finance charges. (That does, of course, rely on your paying in the agreed timeframe.) The deal is open to photographers in the UK purchasing from certain stores including Calumet Photo, Clifton Cameras, Park Cameras and The Flash Centre; we're not certain if it extends to other retailers across Europe, but your local Ricoh agent can likely tell you if that's the case.

UK photographers purchasing a Pentax 645Z camera body-only or in a 55mm f/2.8 kit will be eligible for 18 months interest-free financing if your final pricetag exceeds £10,000, and if you spend £15,000, you'll have 24 months to pay off the balance. If you're only looking to buy some lenses for your existing medium-format camera, a £5,000 will see you offered 12-month free financing. In all cases, you'll need to pay 20% of the final total at purchase, and it's likely the offer will be dependant on your credit history as well.
