Italian camera accessory manufacturer has released Lumie, a new series of consumer-level LED lights. Powered by rechargeable Lithium-ion batteries, each of the lights offer continuous, flicker-free lighting for over an hour.

The three units are called Lumie Art, Lumie Play and Lumie Muse, which put out 220lux, 440lux and 550lux, respectively. In addition to the power difference, the Play and Muse both feature a hotshoe mount, while the Muse tosses in a ball and socket head for good measure.

The lights are balanced for a color temperature of 5600K, offer a beam angle of 50 degrees and have a Color Rendition Index (CRI) of >92%. In addition to the standard brightness and color temperature, Manfrotto also includes clip-on filter for adjusting and defusing the light.

Manfrotto has priced the Art, Play and Muse at £44.95 (~$67), £69.95 (~$105) and £99.95 (~$149), respectively. You can purchase yours on Manfrotto’s Lumie site.

Author’s note: That left-handed Nikon used in Manfrotto’s product photography is impressive. Not only did they manage to accurately ‘flip’ it, but the lettering on the side of the camera body and lens is facing the right way and looks quite authentic. Be prepared for the left-hand camera rumors in about four days.
