Children can be one of the most challenging subjects to photograph. But it’s by no means impossible. For proof, look no further than to the photography of Elena Shumilova, whose photos of her children in the Russian countryside went viral last year, amassing over 60 million views.

In the two and a half minute video (below), Shumilova sat down with SmugMug Films on her farm in Russia and shared four helpful tips for capturing stunning images of little ones. It’s short, sweet and to the point.

In addition to the short tips video above, Shumilova and SmugMug shared a lengthier behind-the-scenes video. Four minutes in length, this video shares the location and inspiration behind the inspiring photographs of her children.

Both videos are well worth the watch, so set aside ten minutes and enjoy the clips. For more behind-the-scene videos and interviews, you can check out SmugMug Film’s YouTube Channel.
