Fujifilm dropped some jaws when they first released their X-Pro1 camera back in March 2012. Since then, dedicated Fujifilm fans have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of its successor, and while the camera itself might not be official, it appears the long-expected name has been confirmed.

According to an excel file [direct download] published on the Chinese MIIT site, the ‘X-Pro2’ name has officially been registered by Fujifilm, one of the final steps in the process needed before selling WiFi- and Bluetooth-capable devices in China.

Again, this isn’t a confirmation that the camera is officially going on sale anytime soon, but it’s one step closer to the camera Fujifilm fans have been impatiently waiting three and a half years for.
