If you’re looking for a fun, simple DIY project this week, photographer Isiah Xiong has you covered. In his latest video, shared on YouTube, he shows off a simple way to make a speedlight grid with nothing more than straws, tape, scissors and thick construction paper.

The video comes in just shy of three minutes and details two methods you can use to create a DIY speedlight grid – a great accessory for those times when you want more precise control of where your light is ending up.

The project shouldn’t cost more than a few dollars in supplies from your local superstore, if you have to go there at all – many of the products are probably laying around the house somewhere.
