Brooklyn-based music and portrait photographer Ebru Yildiz recently did a video interview with Feature Shoot in which she discusses what it takes to become a successful music photographer.

Yildiz has been published in a wide variety of magazines and websites, including Pitchfork, NPR, The New York Times, and Spin. She has also had numerous exhibitions in New York and abroad in Istanbul, Turkey.

Yildiz says that her favorite part of photographing the music scene is the people that she gets to meet, both artists and fans alike. As a freelance photographer, she's had a lot of interesting experiences. She's had months at a time when she was incredibly busy and then months following when work just dries up. This can be a very stressful experience, so she says that you have to have a lot of passion for what you're doing to make it sustainable. Check out the interview with Yildiz below.
