Available in a wide variety of paper and sizes, Red River Paper offers affordable greeting card options that make great prints, perfect for the holiday season.

Red River Paper sent me a greeting card sample kit to test out, and their paper impressed me a lot. Available in 7" x 10", 6.25" x 9", 5.5" x 8.5", 6" x 8", 8" x 9", and 5.25" x 10.5" (all pre-scored for folding), you can create cards for any occasion. By following their online guide and using the enclosed Photoshop templates, printing great looking cards was very simple. Also included with the sample kit are a few sheets of regular paper for you to test out your formatting before printing on the photo paper.

The sample kit included glossy, matte, watercolor, and specialty (paper canvas) papers. My favorite paper is the 60lb. Pecos River Gloss paper, which has a very smooth, glossy finish and has a really nice look for a greeting card. Coupled with one of the included translucent sample envelopes, this is an attractive and sleek way to send one of your images to friends and family or a potential client.

While all of the included papers have their place, the Aurora Art Natural Double-sided paper was my favorite of the matte papers. It has a warm tone and it works very well with black and white images. For a truer white, there is also Aurora Art White Double-sided paper, but the Natural paper gave my images a special quality that I particularly liked.

Both of these matte papers provided great results and the Photoshop template available for download on Red River's site made adding text and formatting the cards very simple.

For more information and to see the full list of the paper included in the sample kit, which costs $12.99, see here. Using Red River's greeting card paper, on most printers the total cost for the paper, ink, and envelope is less than $1.00 USD. Considering the cost of greeting cards in stores, Red River's greeting card selections are a great value and an excellent way to share some of your images for a personal touch.

In addition to the greeting cards, they've also sent me a wide selection of additional papers, which I have been testing with the Epson SureColor P800 printer. Reviews of both the printer and a variety of Red River paper will be published soon.
