Think Tank Photo's Shape Shifter backpack was a distinct backpack when it first released, but with input from professional photographers, Think Tank has made it even better with the new version 2.0 expandable Shape Shifter backpacks.

Shape Shifter V2.0 comes in three configurations, 15 V2.0, 17 V2.0 and Naked Shape Shifter 17 V2.0 which are designed to hold 15 and 17-inch laptops. The Naked Shape Shifter offers photographers the ability to attach Skin Pouches or Lens Changers inside the bag to customize their carrying experience.

Think Tank CEO and lead designer Doug Murdoch says of the new backpacks, "While travelling or on location, the Shape Shifter V2.0 lets photographers adjust their backpack to fit their workflow. [The bags] compress to three inches in depth when gear is removed, allowing photographers to have their gear at the ready while maintaining a slimmer profile while maneuvering through crowds." The Shape Shifter V2.0 bags should be great for working photographers for whom space is a luxury.

With a tripod attachment on the front, smartphone-oriented pocket, detachable water bottle pouch, contoured shoulder harness, removable waist belt and multiple zippered pockets, the Shape Shifter V2.0 backpacks are designed for photographers on the move. All of the bags are made with water-repellent fabric and feature removable foam dividers as well, allowing for a customized user experience in all conditions.

The 15 V2.0 holds a 15" laptop, tablet up to 13", a gripped DSLR and three detached lenses in addition to various personal items. The 17 allows for a second DSLR and an additional lens. The Naked 17 holds four to seven modular pouches or lens changers and personal items. All of the backpacks are also up to seven inches in depth when expanded with gear, and only three inches when empty and compressed. Weights range from 3.8 pounds (1.7 kg) to 4.6 pounds (2.1 kg).

Available for preorder from B&H now, the Shape Shifter 15 V2.0 costs just under $250, the 17 V2.0 sells for around $280 and the Naked Shape Shifter 17 goes for $220 (but you will need to buy the pouches to use inside separately).
