Photographer Manny Ortiz creates a lot of awesome tutorials and behind-the-scenes videos aimed at portrait photographers on his YouTube channel. We have covered his work in the past and his latest video is yet another must-watch for portrait photographers. His latest video, seen below, shows how Ortiz builds and tweaks his poses.

Posing can be challenging for numerous reasons. There is a lot to keep track of when shooting portraits, lighting, background, composition and more without even considering how your subject is posed. There are tried-and-true poses that work well for the majority of subjects, as Ortiz shows in his video, but there are small tweaks you can make to personalize poses for your particular subject. Having your subject move just one of their arms to a few different locations can add a lot of variety to your portraits and deliver very different moods.

If you are looking for tips on posing women in particular, check out this previous tutorial by Ortiz. To see more of his work, visit his website, follow him on Instagram and check out his YouTube channel.
