There's really no other way to say it: Sigma keeps delivering hit after hit -- their Global Vision re-working of older lenses, as well as new concoctions, simply continue to be impressive. It therefore comes as no surprise that the updated Sigma 85mm f/1.4 Art lens, which debuted at Photokina last year, earned very high marks in our just published lens review. Optically, the lens is stunning, both on full-frame DSLRs and sub-frame ones. It is sharp, very sharp!

Sigma's latest lenses, however, have not been known for their svelteness. Sigma, instead, focuses on delivering the best optical performance, and if that results in a heavier lens, then so be it. The story doesn't change with the new 85mm f/1.4 Art, which tips the scales at around 2.5lbs and measures around five inches long and almost four inches in diameter. It's big and heavy, but feels very well built. For all the details, including our lab testing results and sample images, head over for our in-depth Sigma 85mm f/1.4 Art Review.
