After a year of development, the Android and iOS app Mendr launched in March. Mendr is a very interesting app that matches photographers with retouchers. A user selects one of their photos within the application, chooses the edits that they want done to the image and then sends it out. Photo editors with the app are then notified of the edit request. Ideally, one of them selects the photo and edits it with their software of choice. When they finish the desired edits, they submit it back to Mendr and the original photographer receives it. Not only does the app hope to reduce the pressure on photographers to always need to edit their own images, but the app is a platform for photo editors to make money.

Inspired by requests from friends and family to edit their own photos, Mendr co-founder (and photographer and editor) came up with the idea for an app that matched photographers and editors. He thought there must be a better way to have someone edit your photos than simply asking people you personally know.

It’s a very cool idea for an application and so far users have been pleased. It currently has high user ratings in both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. You can download the app from the links above. To see some of the edits users have done, follow Mendr on Instagram. Have any of you tried the app? If so, let us know in the comments below.
