Nikon has stepped up their game in not only the stills department, but also with the video features they've crammed into the newly announced Nikon D850. Up to this point, Nikon has danced around the idea that their cameras could be used for filmmaking, but it never felt like they fully jumped into the deep end of that pool. With the release of the D850, Nikon fans who have wanted to get amazing video features can finally feel like their cries are being heard. Though it gets a ton right, easily the biggest highlight features have to be the full frame 4K video capture and the focus peaking (a first for either Canon or Nikon in a DSLR).
Featuring 4K UHD full frame capture at 24/30p, slow motion up to 120 frames per second in 1080p, and focus peaking in full HD, the Nikon D850 already stands out from the crowd in specs alone. But it doesn't end there. With zebra striping, 4K and 8K timelapse, uncompressed 4:2:2 8-bit HDMI out and more, Nikon's latest full-frame DSLR is poised to be the best video camera they have ever released.
