While most users and critics have generally been impressed with the new Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS zoom lens, Sony has announced that some samples of the lens are affected with a focusing issue.

"In certain shooting conditions an out of focus issue may occur with some 24-105mm f/4 full-frame E-mount G (SEL24105G) lenses," Sony says. They continue, "To address this issue, subject to the terms and conditions in the Limited Warranty that accompanied the Affected Lens, we will repair your Affected Lens, free of charge, through March 21, 2020." The out of focus issue may occur under specific conditions, including when using the autofocus with a close aperture and when changing the aperture of the lens after using manual focus.

The issue affects lenses within a certain range. You can enter your serial number at the bottom of this page to find out if your Sony 24-105mm f/4 G OSS is affected. You can view your serial number on the side of the lens near the mount.
