Sony 50mm f/2.8 Macro SAL-50M28
9 out of 10 points and recommendedClear, crisp, no distortion. Excellent build quality, ecellent optics. Great priceFocus right material is notched, would prefer smooth surface less dirt etc. getting caught inbetween surfacesRecieved my A100 over a week ago, and this lens a few days ago. Have put almost 800 shots thru it from landscapes to extremely close macro shots. Terribly impressed with it, worth every penny. Focus hold and limiter are great additions to it, and makes the A100 all business. I could shoot with this lens all day and night and never tire using it. Great for portraits too. Shots come out tack sharp, no visible disortion or CA whatsoever. Prime lens fan now. Love it!

Sony 16-105mm f/3.5-5.6 DT SAL-16105
9 out of 10 points and recommendedExtremely versatile range, excellent build and weight, very good optical qualitySome expected barrel distortion and vignetting, and a tad softer in the corners at wide open aperturesA bit of a darkhorse that competes with the Zeiss 16-80 in Sony's own lineup.

The minor drop in sharpness in comparison to the Zeiss is worth the gain in build quality, and the added zoom range.
An excellent lens that costs less than the Zeiss, and should be more popular than it currently is.
Highly recommended.
