Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
9 out of 10 points and recommendedcheap sharp fastbuild, manual focusI love this lens, focus is not as noisy as you might fear, my sample starts sharp right at 1.8

Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM
4 out of 10 points and not recommendedcheap, good rangeimage quality, wobblyWell, if you have no other choice, it makes pictures, but it will be hard to get a sharp picture at 200+mm out of it.

Canon EF 28-90mm f/4-5.6 III
5 out of 10 points and recommendedsuitable rangebuild qualityImage quality actually isnt THAT bad for that cheap a lens, but build shows what this lens is all about. The focal range is useful of course, but there are much better alternatives

Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM
9 out of 10 points and recommendedAllround QualityActually not as sharp as a 50mm prime, but prime is prime. Excellent contrast and good iq, a joy to use. I recommend the EW83DII lens hood. For an allround 1.6 crop, the far end may not be enough for your needs. Thats where the 50mm prime comes into play :)
