    I borrowed this lens from a friend to test.

    I tried shooting my sons hockey game with it.
    Not very happy with the results. IQ was ok,not great but ok for the price. but was a bit too slow of a lens for indoor sports. might be ok outside.

    I got this as a kit lens with my 400D.

    The lens is serviceable. IQ is not great not horrible.
    About what you would expect from a "kit" lens
    It focuses quickly and accurately.

    You will want to upgrade eventually but not too bad as a starter lens.
