fast prime (F2), very sharp, and good contrast
    none

This macro lens is also a great portrait lens. In fact is a great lens for any kind of shoot. I use this lens in doors in poor light conditions with wonderful results. Coupled with the E-1's great auto white balance this lens is great in low, indoor light situations.

Good low light capabilities and excellent sharpness and contrast
    LONG and HEAVY

When this lens arrived and I unpacked it, I was really surprised at how heavy and long it was. When I put it on my camera I realized that this is a specialized lens -- and an excellent one at that. A few months latter I got a Sigma 18-125 to use in more everyday, travel situations.

I'm looking forward to the Oly 18-180 to replace the Sigma and will continue to use the Oly "Big Gun" on special occasions.

  • Olympus 11-22mm f/2.8-3.5 Zuiko Digital

10 out of 10 points and recommended
moderate small, good apeture (F2.8/3.5) and excellent sharpness and Contrast
    none

A fantastic lens -- very little distortion or chromatic aberrations, excellent sharpness and contrast. A good size -- not too big nor too small (smaller F-stops) and fits nicely on the E-1.

My travel kit is the E-1 with the 11-22 and the Sigma 18-125. These two lenses provide 22-250 field of view in 35mm terms. I like the overlap in the normal range so that I won't be caught with the wrong lens on the camera in normal situations.

  • Olympus 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5 Zuiko Digital

9 out of 10 points and recommended
Moderate size, F2.8 at wide end, good sharpness and contrast

This is the standard lens with the E-1 and fulfills that function very nicely -- good wide angle range and moderate telephoto.

This lens delivers the shot, every time, and with its splash proof construction you can keep shooting even when it starts to rain!
