Nikon 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED DX AF-S Nikkor

Your opinion of this lens compared to the 17-55 is nothing short of WOW. I have been interested in replacing my
18-135 with the 17-55. I would like the faster lens to shoot indoors where flash isn't an option. But now you have me second guessing about what to do.
While I haven't done careful testing it seems my 60mm
micro seems to be better overall then the 18-135.
Just about every review at Nikonians comparing the
135 to the 55 has them raving about the 55.
While a prime would be faster I like the flexibility
of a zoom. You are the only person I've come across who has done this.
Am I missing anything here?
